Tradesperson Terms

Last updated: 13 May 2026 · Version 1.0

Plain-English summary: Fix-A(I)LL connects you with customers who have asked for an AI estimate. You pay a £5.99 lead fee each time you accept a job — no commission, no monthly fee. You are an independent business. We don't employ you. Quality of work, insurance, certifications, taxes — all your responsibility.

1. Who we are

These terms govern your use of Fix-A(I)LL ("we", "us", "the Platform") operated by:

2. Your status

You ("the Tradesperson", "you") use Fix-A(I)LL as an independent business. By creating an account you confirm:

3. Verification

To list on Fix-A(I)LL you must complete our verification process. This currently includes:

You must inform us within 14 days if any of these change — particularly if your insurance lapses or your trade registration is revoked. Continuing to operate on the Platform with lapsed credentials is grounds for immediate suspension and may constitute a criminal offence in some trades.

Verification by us is not a warranty of your competence to customers. It is a baseline check that you appear to meet trade and legal requirements. You remain solely responsible for your fitness to do the work you take on.

4. Lead fees

4.1 When you accept a job, we charge you a flat lead fee of £5.99 from the payment card you have authorised. This is charged immediately upon acceptance.

4.2 The lead fee is non-refundable except in the following limited circumstances:

To request a refund, contact [email protected] within 7 days of acceptance with the job reference and reason.

4.3 The lead fee gives you the right to contact and quote the customer. It does not guarantee the customer will accept your quote or proceed with the work.

4.4 We may change the lead fee on 14 days' notice. New fees apply to jobs accepted after the change.

5. Your obligations

When operating on the Platform you agree to:

6. The customer relationship

When you accept a job:

7. Off-platform conduct

Tradespeople must not, for jobs originating on the Platform:

We monitor for off-platform leakage patterns and may suspend accounts where we have reasonable grounds to suspect this conduct.

8. Reviews and ratings

Customers may rate and review your work on the Platform. You agree:

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:

You may close your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. Any in-progress jobs must be completed or properly handed over to the customer first.

10. Liability

10.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by either party's negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

10.2 Subject to 10.1, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform shall not exceed the total lead fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10.3 You agree to indemnify and hold Fix-A(I)LL harmless against claims by customers or third parties arising from your work, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, faulty workmanship, regulatory non-compliance, or breach of your tax/registration obligations.

11. Data and privacy

Our handling of your personal data is covered by our Privacy Policy. You are also a data controller for the customer data you receive through the Platform — you must comply with UK GDPR in your own handling of that data.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and posted at least 14 days before taking effect.

13. Governing law and UK-wide operation

13.1 Fix-A(I)LL operates across the entire United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland). The Operator is Open Source AI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

13.2 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

13.3 Disputes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where the law of your jurisdiction (Scotland or Northern Ireland) requires otherwise for self-employed persons or small businesses.

14. UK-wide trade certification schedule

The qualifications and registrations a tradesperson must hold depend on the type of work and the UK nation in which it is performed. You are responsible for holding ALL appropriate registrations for work you carry out. The Platform accepts the following recognised registration bodies.
